Senior Attorney Shayla Smith’s litigation practice is centered on compassionate and creative advocacy along with understanding her clients’ business and personal objectives in order to develop short and long term strategies designed to protect their interests. Her practice centers on comprehensive defense for business owners and families in the areas of commercial litigation, business and personal tort defense, termination/adoption, divorce, child custody disputes, as well as drafting estate planning documents such as wills, medical directives and trusts. With over a decade of managing all phases of high stakes litigation from the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office to private practice, Shayla’s clients benefit from her unique multi-faceted courtroom experience.

Shayla works closely with her clients to develop cost-efficient dispute resolution solutions to reach a favorable settlement. In instances where negotiation resolutions are unavailable, Shayla welcomes the opportunity to leverage compelling advocacy in trial or arbitration.

She is the proud mother of five, (three almost four) adult children and one school-age. When she isn’t advocating for her clients, Shayla can often be seen on the sidelines for any number of sports/activities her children are involved in.
